as always a great book by Osprey, with excellent artwork by Ron Volstad, perfect book for historians, re-enactors or miniaturists who want to try and replicate Civil War miniatures. Highly recommended!.
Material in the book is excellent. the seller didnt rate it the way I thought it should be rated. My opinion it should be good to very good.
Like the research done on the uniforms from the different States.

Very well done. Lot's of info.
Like all books in this series a few color plates of various uniforms are shown and there is a brief description. The book is of average quality. I will use it for painting civil war figures. If you are wanting a more scholarly work on civil war uniforms look elsewhere.
As describe
A very interesting book detailing the various kinds of uniforms that the states issued early in the Civil War. There were a variety of colors with both sides wearing some grey and both sides wearing some blue. There was also a lot of very cheap clothing made that wore out very quickly. The book is extremely detailed and has a good number of photos in it.
